EFECTIVELY USING MODERN-CLASSIC INTERIOR
DESIGN STYLE TO TRANSFORM YOUR HOME
Â
The process of interior design begins with
the choice of a suitable design style. Sometimes, one might also like to choose
a style which is a fusion of 2 or more style. The Modern-Classic Interior
Design Style, for example, draws inspiration from the classical art styles such
as the Greco-Roman, the Art Deco, & the Victorian; and finely blends the
classic look with modern art. If you have a taste for the classics & an eye
for sophistication, then this style may very well impress you.
Â
Mr. Sagar Lotankar’s home in Wakad, Pune
(with an area of 489 sq. ft. & made with a budget of ₹8-10L) has been
designed by Einterio’s team of expert interior designers in the Modern-Classic
style, and we’re sure the look will leave you mesmerized.

1. The Entrance Foyer:
It is important to pay attention to detail when designing an entrance. Here, we chose to go with a simplistic modern safety door with a designer metallic grill; and paneled the walls with a few wall planters to breathe some life in the scene. Beneath the paneled walls sits a flap-open shoe-unit, which in spirit of its modern design, doubles down as a seat with a cushioned top. The white & brown colour-scheme along with the use of wood & marble textured laminates, give the foyer a welcoming look.
2. The Living Room:
Painted in the colours pipe-dream L154
& Silver Trinket 8298, the living room at the Lotankars’ home along with
its wainscoted walls, gives you a classical aesthetic feel. Wall lighting &
paintings beautify the room along modern art lines. The furniture used is
minimalistic & the folding dining table acts as a space-saving feature. A
full-sized TV unit sits atop a basic drawer storage. The dining area connects
the living room with the semi-open kitchen.
Â
3. The Kitchen:
With blues & whites alongside
wooden laminates (Royalé Touché ES 1682) for highlights, the kitchen continues
the colour scheme from the living room area. The L-shaped platform design makes
effective use of space & has provisions for a tall microwave unit, chimney,
water-purifier, fridge as well as a few wicker baskets. The acrylic finish on
the kitchen trolleys makes them long-lasting & fashionable.
Â
4. Kids’ Room:
In addition to Pipe Dream L154, the
kids’ room makes use of Pepper Leaf 8386, and a special Green Chalkboard paint
section has been added to allow the child to doodle on the walls. The false
ceiling overhead is lined with profile lighting to brighten up the room. There
is ample provision for storage in the form of the sliding wardrobe with bottom drawers
and also the additional storage units on either flank of the bay widow seating.
This room also houses a shrine of a completely modern design. The foldable
study table allows for maximum usage of the space.
Â
5. Master Bedroom:
Following a white & brown colour scheme, the master bedroom at Lotankar residence features a Queen-size Murphy bed (a bed which folds back into the wall), a wardrobe with a loft & pull-out dresser, a foldable study table, some open shelves & overhead storage with shutters allowing for maximum use of available space. The use of wooden texture laminates has given a modern look & a cozy feel to the room.
